Unstoppable in the face of the unknown
11/30/25 - Change will always exist. Adapt and take action to become unstoppable.
Mindset
Hi friends,
I hope everyone in the US who celebrated Thanksgiving had a good one.
Here we are entering the last month of the year, and it’s been quite the year for most of us.
Overall, it feels like the economy of everyone’s lives has gotten lean. You know, forced-to-do-more-with-less kind of lean.
Among the talk about inflation, job layoffs, and AI, one thing is as true as it’s ever been: change is the constant in life.
You don’t have to agree with it or like it, but you do have to find a way through it.
The “unknown” that’s always lurking gives me great anxiety, however, complaining and having self-pity won’t change the situation.
Figuring out how to adapt to such forces is the hard part, but if we choose to put in the work to find a way, we will find a way through it.
Often, the way through may not be exactly what we anticipate, but it’s likely what’s needed.
I’ve personally been in the “unknown” boat enough times to know that I need to have faith that things will work out, and start taking action even when I don’t feel ready.
Action leads to learning, and learning leads to improvement, which eventually leads to wins that start changing your situation.
Many are currently out of work, or worried about health benefits in the new year, some are even worried if they can provide the kind of holiday experience they want for their family this month.
It’s not easy, but do your best to have relentless optimism for the little things that are good in your life today, like, in this exact current moment. Have faith, rely on those who love you to help you, even if you feel prideful and don’t want to accept the help.
But, also, help yourself by taking action on things you can control, even little things. It’s a matter of keeping the ball moving down the court. Keep forward progress; one foot in front of the other.
I’ve been working to apply this idea for myself and my family this year. From where my year started until now, the actions I’ve been taking have been incrementally compounding and paying off.
Since being laid off of work back in January of this year and being able to land a new job, I prioritized ramping up in the new role to support my family. I feel like I still have a lot to learn in my role, but the effort I put in earlier this year is compounding, and I’m connecting the dots a little bit easier, more quickly, and with better quality output.
It’s allowing me to get back into my creative endeavors, which makes me feel whole. That holistic feeling is a superpower, in tough times and in good times.
The action leads to learning, which leads to improvement and wins…those small wins lead to confidence…and that confidence will make you unstoppable, even in the face of the unknown.
