Don't rob yourself of positive recognition
How are you trying to be a positive influence for yourself and others across your day-to-day activities?
I, probably much like you, get overwhelmed with daily life -- things that need to be done, things you want to do, and constantly prioritizing and reprioritizing those things, especially as unexpected challenges arise. Then pausing at the end of the day to realize you didn’t get to “X” … or “Y” … or “Z.”
However, what you likely don’t give yourself credit for are the 23 other things you DID get to that day.
The point is, if you’re focusing on the negative -- what you didn’t do, or what didn’t go so well -- without acknowledging what success you did have, you rob yourself of the motivation that the positive recognition provides to help you drive forward through those negative thoughts.
It’s a mindset shift that, if you do it often, it becomes habitual. This works in both directions meaning, if you continuously focus on the negative, your habit will be to look at the negative aspect of everything.
However, if you make an effort to focus more regularly on the positive, that will become more of your mindset habit. I can almost certainly guarantee you that a positive mindset will provide you more of the results you’re looking for, more often.
