What's fueling your actions?

What are you passionate about? What types of activities do you need to engage in to create opportunities for yourself to embrace your passion?If you are feeling less than fulfilled today, how do you stay motivated to keep going tomorrow? Is there anything you look forward to each day, week, month, year?The answers to these questions can likely be found in your passion. It's important to have a solid relationship with yourself. What I mean by that is, you need to understand what makes you tick.What do you care about?What do you value?What are you passionate about?What are you willing to do to realize your passions?When you have a solid relationship with yourself, and understand the answers to your own internal questions, you can find the motivation to take the necessary actions needed to not only reach your goals, but experience fulfillment from what you engage in along the journey.A quick little story about passion…Every time I've ever been in a position to hire employees or people to work on my team I always try to uncover someone's passion in the hiring process. That passion doesn't have to be for anything related to the job for which they are interviewing.I simply want to know that they have passion for something; anything.The reason is, if they have passion for something then, I as a manager with sincere intentions, can find a way to positively tap into what they care about. Because I know they have passion for something, I know they will be self-motivated to reach toward that passion even when things get tough.It's hard to find really good ways to motivate people if you don't understand what they care about.The same is true for all of us as individuals. If we don't examine for ourselves what we care about, how can we expect to motivate ourselves to take the necessary actions to reach our goals and feel the kind of fulfillment we're longing for?Have a great week!
