The Honor in Valuing the Here and Now

First off, I wanted to thank everyone who came out to the music performance I had this past weekend at

in Verona, WI.  I also want to thank

who shared the stage with me.

We each performed our own sets, three songs at a time before switching off, back-and-forth throughout the evening.  It was a lot of fun, and I’m grateful to everyone who came out to listen.

Beyond that, I had a great day with my 5 year old son today.  Did you spend some quality time with someone special in your life this weekend?  If not, try to make some time to do so soon.

Today was great with my son because it was a beautiful day, and we sat outside on our screened-in porch and colored pictures while listening to music.  Not just any music.  My son wanted an education in ’80’s rock -- I’m serious, he asked for it.

So there we are, sitting in the sun at a table on the back porch color Pokemon pictures while listening to ’80’s rock.  What a fun and funny bonding experience, but I loved it.

The point here is that even in your busy day-to-day hustle you need to make sure to find opportunities to be in the moment and enjoy where you’re at and with whom you’re spending that time.

This is even true in your entrepreneurial or artistic pursuits -- be deliberate about how you spend your time and with whom...not necessarily to have a specific agenda, but to maximize your ability to honor and value the time you choose to spend with others.

That’s it this week.  Short and sweet.  Sorry it’s coming to you a little later than normal.  I was too busy honoring and valuing the time I was spending with a very important little man instead of writing this newsletter.

Be sure to carve out some time for a meaningful conversation with someone special in your life this week.  If you’d like to tell me about it, or anything else, hit reply and write me.

Thank you,
