Be motivated to act

How do you reward yourself when you accomplish a goal?

Are you recognizing your own accomplishments?  If not, why not?

It’s great to get external praise for achieving something, but it’s also important to recognize your accomplishments for yourself – internally. 

To accomplish anything it’s necessary to have a great work ethic, but if you don’t periodically take a moment to recognize the work and how far you’ve come to reach your goals, you miss out on some useful self-motivation to keep up your spirits and the required level of effort for your next goal.

Acknowledging your own achievements (no matter big or small, or whether you do so silently by yourself or with others) is an opportunity to express gratitude for the journey that has resulted in your achievement. 

The truth is, that in itself is amazing. You did that!  You accomplished that!  It’s okay to be proud of yourself for following through on a commitment you made.

That self-recognition is helpful to keep you motivated to keep striving and taking action. Action makes things happen, but we have to be motivated to act. And there is no greater motivation than self-motivation.
