Energy of Spring

There’s an exciting motivation that comes with warmer weather in the Spring-time.  Now, if you’re in a climate that is warm all the time maybe you don’t experience what I’m talking about, or maybe it happens in a different way.

Here in the Midwest, where I am located, once winter is over, and the snow is finally gone until next winter, there is a higher level of positive energy that seems to penetrate seemingly dormant motivations.

Some people experience fits of energy that results in spring cleaning. This is extremely useful and productive.  Spring represents a new beginning, which is why it is not surprising that I too get motivated to clean up, get organized and take on new projects with Spring’s arrival.

I mean it makes sense, the weather gets warmer so we can get out of the house to be more active. The sun shows itself more and we get our lacking dose of vitamin D, which helps put us in a better mood.

I find that such a burst of energy in the Spring is something to take advantage of especially if you have some projects you’re trying to get off the ground or move forward.

It’s not always easy to ride the wave of motivation when it hits, but one thing I’ve learned over the years as a creative person is when inspiration or motivation hits you really need to figure out how to take advantage of that energy burst for the good of your craft, and if you’re not in a position to do something with your energy at least capture your ideas and concepts to work on later.

I always have my iPhone on me, which is my best idea-capturer.  I use the Notes app to jot down new ideas especially if I’m not in a position to do something with those ideas right at that given moment.  I also use Evernote and the Voice Memo app for similar reasons.

Is Spring motivating you with more energy?  How are you taking advantage of that energy to move your endeavors forward?  Hit reply and let me know.
