Strength in being energized

Well, our unseasonably warm weather for this time of year has subsided, and now we’re into the downward slope that is soon to be winter.

However, I’m in a good mood. I’ve been feeling energized by being engaged in several things in my life that I’m enjoying the process of pursuing. I feel like I’m finally the closest I’ve ever been to operating on all cylinders when it comes to professional pursuits.

I think it has a ton to do with mindset and being clear on what I value and using that as a filter for the actions I choose. I’m speaking primarily about career stuff here, but it applies to life in general.

It’s important -- especially if you’re in a situation where you’re out of balance and/or currently  unhappy -- to take inventory of what energizes you and what drains you. 

Find a way to remove the draining activities, or come up with solutions to better navigate them, and concentrate more on the activities that energize you. Those energizing activities are your strength, and likely relate to your passions and values.  They will keep you motivated to find ways to circumvent, delegate, and or move through the draining stuff.

It’s never easy, and it’s an ongoing process of self-improvement, but when you choose your strengths and a growth mindset that idea begins to overflow into other areas of your life and your actions. You feel lighter, more confident, and as a result, more consistently happy.
