Vulnerability is a strength
As the new school year has begun and Fall emerges, this time of year always makes me reflect.
When I look back over the last year to 18 months-ish, I realize that I was somewhat content in my work and home life. Contented, perhaps, to the point that I was getting restless for change, but didn’t even consciously know it.
However, God – or the universe or whatever you believe – knew it, and began putting things in my path that would eventually pull me out of my comfort zone.
In my reflection I kept asking, “why?”
Here’s the answer that arrived to me:Being contented can leave you restless, which may mean you’re ready for growth. Thus, the universe is going to put things in your path to pull you out of your comfort zone so you can grow.
Now, what any of us choose to do with that experience to truly grow in a positive direction (aka, how one chooses to come out of that experience – good or bad), is up to us.
I, for one, am committed to utilizing my own recent work-related growth experience to get more clear about what I want out of my work life, what I need, and most importantly to me what my family wants and needs.
I’m feeling a bit refreshed and certainly more hopeful than I was even a few weeks ago.
Often, I personally feel like the things I have to do in my life (especially work) are things that are my own burden to deal with, but this experience has taught me to rely on others, especially my own team (my family are my partners in all of this). It’s even taught me to just be humble enough to ask others for help. Vulnerability is a strength!
What are you currently reflecting on? Your vulnerability is always welcome with no judgment here, hit reply and let me know.
