Push Past The Breaking Point

Are you tired?  I’m tired?  Our family is adjusting to the new routine that took place as our kids transitioned from the lazy days of summer to the very structured new school year.

The excitement has worn off. We’re coming down from the adrenaline rush, and now we’re tired.

However, that’s a good thing.It’s good because we’ve been here before, and we know what this is. The tiredness means our bodies are adjusting to the new routine. The new routine will start to get easier from here. It will begin to feel “normal.”  At least our mental and physical relationship with the new routine will normalize and start to become more habitual. Habits are your mind/body’s way of saving energy -- think muscle memory.

None of us are strangers to new routines and dramatic transitions. Over the last couple of years, that’s just about all our lives have been -- a series of new routines.

But again, if we keep a positive, growth mindset, we can understand what we need to do to succeed through the slog of coming out okay on the opposite end of a new transition.  That is, we need to persevere and work through it. There’s no going around it -- through is the most effective direction.

And if you’re in business, or trying to get through projects as we approach the 4th quarter of the year, you’re probably beginning to feel like you’re running out of steam. We know this feeling too, and the answer is the same -- push through. Once you do, and you get to a point you can catch your breath, or take two days off to relax, or whatever, you’ll be so glad you didn’t give up. 

Don’t ever give up investing in yourself and others.
