battery capacity

Battery capacity.

We all have a battery capacity. An energy level. For many of us, finding that sweet spot of where we operate at our highest level of energy before our battery is depleted, is quite the trick.

I’ve been reading more about the Flow state of energy. This is not a new concept to me, but I’ve been observing my own energy levels with various activities I’m engaged in. I'm trying to decipher what combination of things seems to keep my brain firing at it’s best.

I came across this article from Andy Seth, a mindset coach/entrepreneur. The article breaks down the common cycles we, as humans, go through to achieve flow state energy levels.

It’s pretty interesting and is providing some insight to me about my own energy cycles.

Why is this useful?

It’s useful because if you know how you operate -- when you need to challenge yourself so you can optimize your performance and flow state, when you need to release and take a break, as well as how to best recover to reach flow state again in the future -- then you can work to design your daily routines around your energy cycles to maximize your battery capacity.

Doing so gives you an advantage in life over most who never think to examine this sort of thing.

You want to be happier more often, more productive, and full of a sense of purpose?  Figure out your energy cycles and incrementally build your daily routines around those cycles.

If you already do this, or are examining this for yourself, tell me about it, I’d love to learn what you do. Hit reply to respond.

For me, I need some element of creative problem solving to help me get into a flow state. Something where I can clearly envision the result of me working through the challenge.

Personally, I like when I get to combine this with engagement or recognition from others that produces positive interaction or feedback as a result of what I’m doing. For example, like performing music for a crowd, or creating an art piece for an audience that will appreciate it, or even creating a new business process to solve for inefficiencies. These sorts of things help my energy and productivity to stay high while giving me a positive sense of self and confidence...and that's the point. This leads to more of the same positive feeling. Iron sharpens iron. The more flow we enter into the more flow we’ll find.Come flow with me this weekend -- check out what's going on below.
