Are You Choosing Your Plan

Hi ,earlier this week in my blog post, I talked about practical action that could be taken to hustle and work to monetize your brand.I think it's so important to camp out here to talk about the fact that there is no replacement for doing the work -- hustling.Part of hustling means developing your endeavor's own plan for success.So many of us simply want a guaranteed success plan.  We want a plan in which someone more experienced simply tells us what to do. That way if we follow that plan, we too will be successful like that more experienced person, and we don't have to think or work too hard to reach our success.You likely will glean some useful information from such a plan (people sell them all the time...trust me, I know, I buy them), but the truth is, there's still no guarantee.  Just because it worked for someone else doesn't mean it will work the same way for you.The point here is, you need your own plan, one that is unique to you, your circumstances, your endeavor and where you want to take it.That doesn't mean you shouldn't buy a step by step business/marketing plan, or be influenced by your favorite entrepreneur/author.  However, be sure you're not only following their steps.  Put your unique self into it.  Alter and customize the advice to what you think will work best for you.Part of the reason I say this is because I've seen many people pay money to learn how to start a business or grow their endeavor and fail, at least by their measure, largely because they followed someone else's plan and they felt a bit removed from what they were doing as if it wasn't theirs anymore, which at that point, it wasn't.  It was homogenized to look the same as everyone else's who bought that particular how-to course.Use such courses and advice as a general framework of what can work and be successful, but fill in the details and the passion that's in you throughout, and if something about the purchased plan doesn't feel like a fit, it probably isn't.  Alter it, make it fit for you.No one else has the right answer for you.  You have the right answer for you.
