Be grateful for the pandemic
How are you investing in your future today? In other words, how are you preparing for tomorrow?I ask this question because while I'm hopeful we'll all emerge out of this pandemic soon, I have a feeling it will still be some time before we're there. You may feel similarly...And that means, we need to make plans to make the most of our current situation in a way that allows us to positively build upon today's actions tomorrow, when things begin to open back up.One way, I'm personally trying to prepare, is to not pine for the way it used to be.Things aren't going to be the same ever again. That doesn't mean we won't get back to a similar way of life like before the pandemic, but it won't be the same because the knowledge, experiences, and emotions we've gone through during this time will shape how we navigate and perceive the future. What's good about the pandemic?
Due to shelter in place I've been forced to be around my family more, and while that can have it's challenges, I believe we're all a bit closer as a result.
That time together with my family likely wouldn't have happened without the pandemic, and while the virus is not a positive thing, our family will have positive memories of coming together at a tough time.
Being forced to change daily routines and approaches to life has provided a good audit of how I'm currently living, what I care about, and what I value to help bring those important things back into perspective to improve who I am and how I want to live moving forward.
I've read a ton of books that I may not have gotten to as quickly
I'm exercising my creative problem solving skills due to forced circumstances...and coming up with new solutions to solve new challenges at work and at home is a superpower. (I refuse to ever give up. When there's a will, there's a way.)
What are some of the things you're grateful for as a result of the pandemic?
