June was a very busy month, and while we kicked off July with a great Independence Day celebration, I feel like I can finally catch my breath a bit and enjoy the summer. How about you?Thank you to everyone who was involved in, or supported, the various events I, and/or Eleven participated in, during the month of June including, The Between The Waves Music Conference and Festival, The Madison Area Music Association Awards, my own music performances for Make Music Madison, and more recently on July 1st, the Madison Musicians Networking Happy Hour that Eleven hosted.Various seasons of life are interesting, and I feel I’m in one of those now. It’s a season where I’m involved in several experiences between family, work, and startup life that is rich, exhilarating, and exhausting all at the same time.What I’m finding though, is that not only do I have the strength and stamina to continuing pursuing these various aspects of my life, but I’m feeling more inspired and clear-headed while still feeling like I really don’t have things figured out or under control – a walking contradiction, I know – but it feels like a good place to be. The right place to be right now.One thing I know about myself, that may be true for you too, is that when I have several in-person, real-time, human-connecting experiences strung together (like most of June) where I can learn from others and share stories, my brain ponders them after the fact. I enter into a reflection, strategy, and creation mode. I start journaling more, which is where most of my creative energy and inspiration to connect dots, innovate, and produce new ideas, art, and music comes from. That’s positive and helps me make sense of things to ensure those experiences were not in vain.All this is to say, that I’ve felt like I’ve been hibernating for long enough, and I’m out in the world again experiencing life and being engaged by it, and as a result, being inspired to create something new to share with others…in short, I’m grateful for this moment.Tell me how you’re seizing your current moment.
