Fast times of summer

Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends, and happy 4th of July weekend to my fellow US citizens!

You may have noticed there was no newsletter last week. I took some time off because my wife and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary, our oldest son turned 13 and I just decided to take a short break.

However, I’m back this week, and excited to share some updates, but first…

I feel like summer is flying by. That’s not a bad thing, but the ravenous need to cram everything into these warm weather months always makes summer here in the Midwest seem too short.

My family and I are busy creating cool T-shirt and gift designs in our online shop. You can see the latest designs here:

Dan Lezama and I will be making the trek to meet from our cross-country homes. The purpose is to re-record some songs from our late ‘90’s/early ‘00’s duo/band, Gemini’s Rival. We’re a little older, wiser, (probably goofier than ever), and more accomplished musicians than we were in our teens and twenties so we figured it would be fun to rent a house, record music for several days, and then release those songs across all major streaming platforms. Stay tuned to social media – we’ll likely video record some of our antics.  :) 

I have several unique upcycled guitars available in my Etsy shop. I’m currently working on a new guitar build…a neck-thru-body nylon string acoustic guitar. It’s being built mostly out of scrap wood including a 2x4 for the neck that extends through the body for stability. This is the first guitar I’m upcycling and building completely from scratch, guitar neck and all. In this photo (below) I’m using a cardboard template to help map out the body dimensions.
