NickVenturella.com 4-9-21 - where to focus

where to focus

I keep hearing from readers of my newsletter about focus.

I’m being asked for my advice about what others should focus on to move their life, work, endeavors, careers forward.I’m always happy to help and share my thoughts, but at the end of the day you have to make your decisions based on the information you have. Those decisions may align with the thoughts I provide, or they may not.

Really, it doesn’t matter what I think, it’s about you and your being empowered to make your own decisions. And to have the confidence to capitalize on the decisions you choose to make (even the bad ones).

Either way, the only path forward that is right or wrong is the one that either works for you or doesn’t, and if you’re really investing in yourself and improving all the time, even the path that didn’t work, ultimately contributes to the path that does work if you learn from it.

So where should you focus your energy to move your life, work, endeavors, careers forward?

You should focus it on gathering as much internal data about yourself as you need to understand how you synthesize information and feel comfortable about making your own decisions...decisions you can live with.

Then marry that with all the external data and information you need to gather to be informed enough about a subject to take a calculated risk on a path forward.

Then rinse, repeat, and course-correct along the way.

It’s knowing yourself well-enough to be confident in your ability to make, sometimes life-altering, decisions, and always navigating to the upside of the results of those decisions.

Enjoy the weekend.
