Change is the only constant in life, as they say. Everything is temporary

So whatever you’re dealing with or trying to muscle through right now, I can guarantee, it won’t last forever — even if in the thick of things it feels like forever.

You might be saying now, “Okay Nick, hold up. What I’m currently dealing with may not last forever, but I don’t see the end in sight and I’m spiraling here. What am I supposed to do?”

First off, (and this may be a little tough love, but…) almost always the answers are internal. They’re in you, and you need to decide how you persevere through this. There may be external components, but at the end of the day you can only control what you do.

I know it's hard to have confidence in yourself and your abilities to make the right decisions when you’re in a sticky situation and you feel a bit mentally rattled.

However, you are all you’ve got, and deep in yourself you do have the confidence to bet on yourself and win because, face it, no one externally knows you better than you know you — you may just have to be willing to admit to yourself the good, bad, and ugly that makes up who you are.

That said, if/when you do that, you can start to own how you show up in tough situations. You can draw on your self-awareness to gain confidence and hope, which are needed to help propel you through any situation.

It can also help to ask yourself, God, the universe -- whatever or whomever you believe in -- "what am I supposed to learn from this situation?"

Doing so forces you into a growth mindset to identify what might be a positive outcome of this when all is said and done. Also if you can find things to be grateful for even in the midst of a tough situation it can help you maintain confidence and hope to get through it.

At some point over time, you will find yourself beyond the sticky situation, and at that moment it is ideal to examine in hindsight your whole evolution surrounding this situation to allow yourself to identify your personal growth from before, during, and after the situation.

Then find a way to be grateful for the experience and all you know now, as a result, that makes you more self-aware and capable of dealing with whatever comes your way next.
