The ROI of Positive Thinking / Action

I trust you had a good weekend. I was busy finding Easter eggs with the family, which is why this newsletter installment is coming to you today vs. our usual Sunday correspondence.

Lately, I've been thinking about, dealing with and writing about the power of positive thinking.

However, thinking is only the beginning of the equation toward positive change in your life that helps you live happier and more energized...

Action is required.

I know you know this, but it bears repeating because if action isn't taken, nothing changes for you.

If you want to book more shows as a musician, take steps to research and reach out to at least one potential venue to perform in each day or week (depending on your goals) and inquire about performing there.

If you want to book more freelance clients, set a goal to genuinely ask for help from your current, happy clients to share referrals with you while you research and reach out, daily, to at least one new potential client that fits your "good client criteria."   Hint, LinkedIn is really useful for this.

If you need to get out of a job that is currently sucking the life force from your very bones, then take action to outline what you're looking for in a new job that would help you be energized by your work (ask a spouse, partner or close friend for their perspective of you if you get stuck -- sometimes you're too close to the problem to see an obvious solution...it's okay to ask for help).

From there, share with your professional network that you're looking for new work (be as discrete as you need to), but allow your network to work for you. Then take small action everyday toward the goal of finding new work -- send one resume out, send one email to a friend's company that's hiring, tell yourself one affirmation that you can do this.

It's not easy, but you CAN do it, and if you continuously take small, positive action regularly, you WILL do it.

you can read and share with others on this topic.

I'm rooting for you!  Have a great week!
