Staying Connected

How has your first full week of working remote gone? How has it been with your kids home and trying to home school them while also trying to work?I understand that it's overwhelming. This is definitely a time when documenting gratitude can help keep your mindset positive. My advice is to write down 1 to 3 things you're grateful for each morning or each evening before you go to bed. You can write down anything you're grateful for, but it needs to be specific, that's the only caveat. If you then also have a chance to share what you've written down that you're grateful for with others and listen to what they share that they're grateful for, a ripple effect of positive energy will flow from that exercise. This could be a daily habit you engage in with your kids - think of Thanksgiving dinner and going around the table to share something you're grateful for with the group. It's important to stay hopeful and positive in tough times because if we let our mindset slip into negativity, that can be a slippery slope of non-helpful thought-distortions that cause further anxiety, stress, and irritability in an already stressful and uncertain time.So help yourself and others to exercise gratitude if for no other reason than to briefly move your mindset into a more positive state. You can take this further by sharing your gratitude online line in social media and encouraging your friends and family to do the same. This is uncharted territory, but if we can keep our heads about us, we can persevere.I'm grateful to have my family at home with me as crazy as things are. I'm grateful to connect here with you. I'm grateful to currently be healthy. Hit reply and share what you're grateful for.Be well. Be safe. Wash hands. Stay home.
