Re-energize - The Power of Love
I'm back from my vacation in Fort Myers, Florida.
I don't think I've ever taken a vacation to a warm destination in the middle of a Wisconsin winter, but I can tell you that when you do it's not easy to return to subzero temperatures.
So what did I learn on this trip?
Well, I learned that sometimes it doesn't really matter what you do with those you love but rather it's more important that you are present.
I got to spend some very much needed father-son time with my boy, and it wasn't that we did much of anything overly exciting but we just hung out and spent time together.
If you haven't seen the movie Chef with Jon Favreau, I recommend it. It's on Netflix.
The movie is about a chef who for some reason lost some sense of himself and got distracted by other things in life.
He has a young son who looks up to him and really wants nothing more than to spend some time with him, and not time doing stuff like going to the movies, going to an amusement park or any of those kinds of things.
His son just wants to hang out with him. With a turning point in the movie Jon Favreau's character finds himself with a food truck that he and his son travel in across country stopping at various cities serving food to the crowds there and essentially hanging out with each other.
A longing is fulfilled for both characters -- the father and the son. Each feels more whole, and connected than they did before. With that comes a new sense of energy and revitalization that breeds confidence and motivation.
Who doesn't want that?
Everyone has hard days. Everyone has hard weeks. Life can very much be a struggle, but it is vitally important that you step back periodically to find opportunities to re-energize yourself. So you can gain the confidence and motivation to get back on the horse and keep moving forward in a positive direction.
What can you do this week to maintain positive momentum in your pursuits? Hit reply and tell me about it.I'm sending out positive vibes and good energy this week. If you didn't already download my "Light of Mourning" album, I'm still offering it for free -- a promotion that started with the Grammys and my vacation, but it will only be offered for free for a short time longer. The album has a message of love, hope and family that I want to share. http://www.nickvmusic.net/secret-light-of-mourning-page.html
