Commitment to Yourself

I hear a lot from others that they don't have enough time to put in the effort they need to in order to truly achieve their entrepreneurial or side business goals.I know, because I've succumbed to this excuse many times before, and the thing is, I know it's an excuse.  I may not really have the time in my schedule to have a coffee meeting with a colleague, however, I can be creative and still make time for a phone call with that person. The point is when there's a will, there's a way, it may just take a little compromise and creativity.  Some days this is easy to accomplish and other days it's a struggle.I don't always agree with famed marketer, Gary Vaynerchuk's brash approach, but he certainly can get a point across.  Vaynerchuk talks about the importance of the word 'hustle.'  He talks about being 100% committed to hustling toward whatever goals you have in place -- this goes for raising your family to being an employee or pursuing and running your business.I think what he's really getting at, and what I also believe, is there is no substitute for putting in the necessary work to reach the goals you want with the kind of success you want.  That goes for anything you want to achieve in life. Many, myself included, want instant gratification from efforts and if we don't see them right away we get impatient, frustrated and in several cases so much so that we abandon our efforts before we've really put in an appropriate amount of consistent time/effort to realize our goals.  When that happens you often move on to the next idea, but the same cycle happens again.  Then the big excuses and justifications for why it didn't pan out begin to rear their ugly heads."I didn't have enough time to dedicate to it so it didn't pan out"  Translation: I didn't MAKE enough time to dedicate to it so it didn't pan out as quickly as I had hoped.More recently, perhaps with the new year upon us, I've committed myself to no more excuses of not enough time...and I know this will be a challenge as my family is expanding and we expect our second child in 2015.However, when there's a will, there's a way...and I definitely have a will.  I want to use my knowledge, skills and experience to help you glean useful communication ideas and improvements to aid your own marketing efforts. I also want to share the various ways I communicate and perfect my craft (writing, music, art) to showcase that the road to this (and any) kind of success is a journey and a progression -- you're not alone in that, in fact we're better together. Thanks for being a part of the NickVenturella.com Investor Community (feel free to share this link with others you think may benefit from it).How about you?  How will you commit to yourself?

Thanks,
