Building a positive 2017

We are nearing the end of this calendar year, and that typically brings feelings of both excitement and apprehension or stress about the new year.It is easy to feel the pain of what did not work in your business or your endeavors or even your employment this year. However, we often overlook the good things that have happened in the last year in those areas.Because negative results tend to carry more weight than positive ones, we need to reflect on more of the positive results to maintain, and even boost, momentum through the end of this year and into the next.So grab a pen and piece of paper, or your Notes app on your phone. Now, write in a vertical pattern the months of the year leaving some space to write a few things under each month's header. So something like this…JanuaryFebruaryMarch...and so on.Now, write at least one positive victory that you achieved (no matter how big or small) in each month over the last year. When you are done take a look at your list, reflect on it, and understand that you made these positive things happen. Now think toward next year and decide which of those positive things from this year you can continue to do, or do again in the next year. This is to build off of what has been working in the current year, next year.It can be helpful to go back and do the same exercise with things that did not go well over the last year simply to see it all written out and make some decisions about how you can avoid those same mistakes next year. However, at the least be sure to write down and reflect on the positive things that worked well this year. That is what will help maintain your motivation into next year.I do not plan to write next week as I will be celebrating Christmas with my family, but I wish you and your family a wonderful rest of your holiday season!Sincerely,Nick Venturella nickventurella.comgrowloop.comnickvmusic.netAutismHR.comP.S.
