One foot in front of the other

The last quarter (Q4) of the year is here.Even in a weird year like 2020, Q4 seems as busy if not busier than other years.

Q4 is last-minute go-time. It’s the last stretch to eek out any productivity and/or profits you want to be able to claim for this calendar year.

It tends to be that all sorts of projects, deals, conferences (virtual right now) are all happening at once in Q4. It can feel really overwhelming, but also exhilarating.

As much as I feel overwhelmed and stressed when there’s a lot going on, I also in a weird way like the challenge of seeing how well I can pull it all off. 

Maybe it’s because my experience reassures me that the busyness and compression of all these things happening at once won’t last forever. 

The pain is temporary and if you can muster through it fairly well the (gain) feeling of accomplishment on the other side outweighs the pain endured. 

Plus, it’s reasonable conditioning for handling such overwhelm in the future (this should all be within reason, you need to know yourself well enough to know your limits and when you may need assistance). 

However, the point is, once you’ve successfully come out on the other side of such overwhelm, when you see it appear again you can better recognize it and have confidence that you are indeed capable of managing through it.Just break it down and concentrate on one foot in front of the other until you’ve covered all the steps necessary.
