The 4th Quarter and remembering to breathe

Here we are. It’s October. We’re in the 4th quarter of the calendar year. What are you pushing to complete by the end of this year?  Hit reply and let me know.I’m currently heads down grinding on a huge project for a work conference I’ll be at later this month. It’s a big, company-wide event with thousands of our customers in attendance. Needless to say, there are a lot of things to get done for it.Even though it’s stressful, part of me likes the challenge. It’s another opportunity for me to prove that I can pull off what I’m responsible for, and likely beyond set expectations.  Do you ever feel like that?Although, that accomplished feeling doesn’t typically arrive until the event is all done. But, because I’ve experienced the work involved with this event more than once before I’m confident I’ll get there again.Beyond this work conference, I still have tons of other stuff to get done before the end of this year…things that will ideally benefit you…

  • The GrowLoop website will be undergoing some updates and more content in line with helping you invest in your own self-awareness, mental well-being, and professional pursuits/productivity. Don’t forget the GrowLoop Journal makes a great gift for the holidays, especially for those in your life looking to embark on some new life journey, direction, or goal in the new year.

  • For all you career musicians out there, Eleven Music Career Center, will host its next Madison Musicians Happy Hour Networking Event on Tues. Dec. 3, 2019. Be sure to RSVP if interested. Also, a quick shout out to fellow Eleven cofounder, Matt Jacoby, and his family who just recently welcomed their new baby girl to the world. Now with three kids they can start a family power pop trio band. Congrats, Matt & Emily!

  • Finally, I have an amazing show I’m really looking forward to performing for you set up at Yahara Bay Distillers on Fri. Nov. 22, 2019.

Okay, so it’s easy to get overwhelmed with so many things going on, and plenty of other details that need consideration that you don’t even tell anyone about. That’s why, even in the midst of the busyness, it’s important to find small ways to make some breathing room for yourself.

Here are some quick ideas to create such breathing room:

  • Go to bed 10 minutes earlier and wake up 10 minutes earlier so you can spend those extra 10 minutes in the morning to yourself to just think, or journal, or have a cup of coffee and read before the rest of your household wakes up.

  • Celebrate small victories when you cross off a reasonably sized task on your to-do list. My advice is to briefly step away from whatever you were doing for a minute or a few, if for no other reason than to change your scenery and sigh a breath of relief for getting that task done. Take a quick walk if you can.

  • Take a 5 minutes to capture a few specific things you’re grateful for from that day before going to bed. There are studies that show how gratitude positively affects your brain and mood. Here’s an article from Psychology Today to check out.

Have a great rest of your weekend!Sincerely,Nick VenturellaCreative ProfessionalNickVenturella.comNickVmusic.netGrowLoop.comTurnUpToEleven.com
